Welcome to Drive OD
Drive Organizational Development’s name is a tribute to the 2009 work of Daniel Pink who explored the surprising truth about what motivates employees. Pink wrote:
“Of course, the starting point for any discussion of motivation in the workplace is a simple fact of life: People have to earn a living. Salary, contract payments, some benefits, a few perks are what I call ‘baseline rewards.’ If someone’s baseline rewards are not adequate or equitable, their focus will be on the unfairness of their situation and the anxiety of their circumstance. You will get neither the predictability of extrinsic motivation nor the weirdness of intrinsic motivation. You will get very little motivation at all. The best use of money as a motivator is to pay people enough to take the issue of money off the table.”
Julie’s expertise is to help you take the issue of money off the table.
John’s expertise to help you create conditions for people to do their best work.
